Physician Assistant
When I’m able to help someone understand their disease or diagnosis, or when I can help them feel better, whether through medical therapy or other treatment options, I find that extremely rewarding.
When I was four years old, I had heart surgery. As a kid, I thought the experience was actually really fun! It certainly had an impact on me – because from that point on, I knew I would work in the medical field someday. Years later in college, I studied nutrition, and once I earned my undergraduate degree, worked as a dietitian for a short period of time.
After gaining one-on-one experience with patients, I found myself wanting to explore other areas in medicine and pursued my Physician Assistant degree.
Now, when I’m able to help someone understand their disease or diagnosis, or when I can help them feel better, whether through medical therapy or other treatment options, I find that extremely rewarding.
One thing I try to keep in mind in both my professional and personal life is to be kinder than necessary because everyone is fighting a hard battle.
When I have a day off, I love spending time with family. And if it’s up to me, we’re outside!
